Hometown: Boulder, CO

Education: Augsburg University, B.A. in Communication Studies

Graduate: Augsburg University, MBA

About Me: I have worked in admissions for four plus years. Helping students achieve their individual goals and dreams through education has always been a passion of mine. Finding the right fit in a university is key to success, helping find that fit is the best part of what I do every day.  In addition to my job I love spending time with my family and everything outdoors – I especially enjoy playing golf and ice fishing. As a way to give back to the community I coach high school hockey during the winter months.

Why I love Augsburg: Augsburg has been a major part of my life for a long time. My experience with the university provided me with the perfect platform to learn, grow, strive to be better for myself and others, and gave me all the tools I needed to achieve my own dreams and goals.

Advice to new Auggies: Get involved as much as you possibly can. Support your fellow Auggies, and allow others to support you on the incredible adventure you are starting together!

Education: Undergraduate: University of Engineering and Technology : August 2017. Major: Polymer Engineering
Graduate: St. Cloud State University : May 2022. College Counseling and Student Development.

About Me: I am a third culture kid – I was born in my hometown Lahore, Pakistan and was raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. After graduating as an Engineer, I stumbled upon the world of Student Affairs while I was living in Bahrain, an island on the Persian Gulf. I came to pursue my Graduate studies in the United States in Fall 2019 and have loved being here! In my free time I enjoy cooking (HUGE FOODIE), exploring new places, photography and watching movies.

Why I love Augsburg: Augsburg is located in the heart of a vibrant community which is inclusive and accepting of people from all walks of life. Oh, and I love the architecture of the buildings!

Advice to new Auggies: Get to know yourself better! There is no better time than college to explore what interests you and gain some valuable skills that will help you for a lifetime!

Education: Undergraduate: Augsburg University 2022, Major: Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies with a minor in Social Welfare.

About Me: I grew up in Northwest Indiana, but I call Minneapolis my home. I came to Augsburg in 2018 and stayed after graduation. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends, crocheting, and baking goodies! Fun fact: I have an orange cat named Theodore.

Why I love Augsburg: I absolutely loved my time at Augsburg! The community here is so wonderful and supportive. I was able to discover a lot about myself, and gain important skills and experiences.

Advice to new Auggies: Be willing to be out of your comfort zone! Meet new people, join student organizations, make connections with your professors. Of course study hard, but also go out and explore and be involved on campus.

Education: Luther College, B.A. in Sociology

About Me: I’ve been in college access and career readiness for eight-plus years. In all that time I have been a fierce advocate for education equity and closing the achievement gap. In my free time, you can find me playing card games, and watching terrible movies, but almost always chatting it up with friends. I’m a hopeless MN sports fan (especially soccer and baseball) and understand the rare ups and many downs of what that means.

Why I love Augsburg: Augsburg has been a leading example of a welcoming and diverse campus that puts students first. It’s outstanding to see how a small campus can have such a big impact. Augsburg has such a fantastic community to dive into and embrace wholeheartedly.

Advice to new Auggies: Step out of your comfort zone! Try something new and embrace the change that can happen when you do. College is not just about the classes, but the experience you have and the people you meet along the way.

Education: B.A. Theatre; Communication Studies- St. Catherine University;
Masters in Business Administration, Globe University;
Masters in Organizational Leadership, St. Catherine University

About Me: I have spent most of my professional career working in higher education and have a strong commitment to creating equitable access to education for all students. As a first generation college student, I navigated the undergraduate college search process on my own and saw, firsthand, some of the challenges with accessing educational opportunities. For the past 18 years, I’ve worked in a variety of institutions, with a diverse group of students and programs. I am passionate about student support and about helping prospective students make a smooth transition from application to enrollment.

Outside of work, my husband and I are proud parents to two kids (ages 13 and 15) and enjoy spending time with family. I am one of 6 kids and love having my siblings over for family dinner and game nights. I also enjoy hiking, running, reading, and yoga (I don’t sit still for long)!

Why I love Augsburg: Augsburg’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging make our university unique. Students are at the forefront of all decisions and the staff and faculty here are truly invested in student success. Students receive an academically strong educational experience, have incredible opportunities for experiential learning, and are building a higher level of cultural competency throughout their studies. This is a supportive space to challenge yourself to grow- personally, professionally, and academically!
