January 20, 2023

We hope you have had a great start to the semester. Remember that you need to have a minimum of 12 credits each semester for J-1 and F-1 undergraduate students and a minimum of 6 credits for graduate students.

We see there has been some shifts in adding and dropping courses. If you have questions please let us know.

Here are a few things to be aware of for this week:

✅ TAX Season

As you ALL know, all F-1 international students are REQUIRED to file taxes for the 2022 year. This is the case even if you HAVE NOT worked. Please visit our website page regarding taxes, and set up a time with BSC (you will follow a link to their scheduling platform). This is a company we have hired to help you with your tax filings (at no cost to you). Your meeting with them should take during the month of January and February, 2023.

✅ Share Shop – Grand Opening: Monday, January 23
The ShareShop’s grand opening for Spring semester will be on Monday at 10 am! Opening hours will be Monday from 10 am -2 pm, Wednesday 1 pm -4 pm, Thursday 2 pm -3:30 pm & Friday 11:30 am.

The ShareShop is located in the basement of Science Hall.

✅ The Great Northern Festival – January and February

We encourage you to check out this great festival that will take place at the end of January and beginning of February 2023. This will give you a great glimpse of what is available and how Minnesotans spend time in this winter wonderland. Who wouldn’t go to Dance Church? Or fish through the ice? Or even better, experience great concerts and later take a sauna to regain more heat? I would!
