For this week’s newsletter we are going to share some news and safety tips.

✅ EMERGENCY NOTIFICATIONS

Sign up for Emergency Notifications if you haven’t yet, and always be aware of your surroundings.

It can also be found on your Inside Augsburg page under “Emergency Notification”.

If you see anything suspicious, report it immediately to DPS at (612) 330-1717 .


✅International Student Mentor Program

-The new application form is now online and available for students interested in beginning or keeping their Mentor role.

Fill out the application before March 1st as the interview process will start the very next day and will be done on March 10th.

-If you’re already a Mentor, we’ve sent you a Self Evaluation form, which also needs to be completed by March 1st.


✅ISO events

-Be ready to choose who’s going to represent you;
The International Student Organization 2023/2024 elections are available to fill out in this form.

-Fun event alert: sign up to go snow tubing with the ISO staff, only a few spots left!

✅Housing contracts and LLC

Housing contracts for the next academic year are available on your housing portal, look for “Housing” on your Inside Augsburg page or click HERE.

Exchange students can apply to join our Global Living Community (or another Living Learning community), or share a room with another person, usually in “floor-houses” or “townhouses” in Anderson Hall.  Single rooms are more expensive. The Residence Life Office will make final decisions based upon housing availability.


✅MN Private Colleges’ event

The MN Private Colleges’ are hosting a Job & Internship fair at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Wednesday, Feb. 22nd from 9:00-2:00. Free for students & Free shuttle from AU to the convention center.

Students should pre-register for the fair in Handshake. 


✅Interfaith Scholar Application

The Interfaith Scholars is a course and service learning opportunity offered by the Interfaith Institute at Augsburg in collaboration with the Religion Department.

Interfaith Scholars are students who are interested in exploring the religious diversity of the Augsburg student body, the wider Twin Cities community, and the United States through interreligious dialogue and action. Students from a variety of traditions as well as the non-religious are invited to apply in order to converse respectfully with others about what they believe, why it matters, and how it propels us to service in the world.


✅Multicultural life scholarships

The Multicultural Life Programs Scholarships (ASIA Scholarship, Bonnie Wallace American Indian Scholarship, HOLA Scholarship, LGBTQIA+ Student Services, and M. Anita Gay Hawthorne Scholarship) recognize returning underrepresented undergraduate students in the Augsburg Day program. Students who are eligible and awarded will receive a $2,500 annual, renewable award  that will be applied to 2023-2024 Academic Year.
