May 22nd, 2023

We hope the first couple of weeks of summer have been treating you well! And whether you are here in the United States or at home, we hope you ALL have some great weeks ahead of you.
A few things to remember for the following months:
✅  ISSS OFFICE HOURS
We will have limited hours over the summer. Bettine will be in Norway working for the month of June and take some time off in July. If you need any documents signed, please set up a time with her no later than this Friday, May 26.
If you need them later, please let us know and we will arrange for another person (who has the qualifications) to print out or sign your documents.
Chiara will be in the office starting the first week of June and have 15 hours per week for ISSS.

✅  SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER (SSN)
For all of you new to employment at Augsburg, please remember to apply for your SSN immediately. It is an easy process and step by step instructions are available on our employment page.
Once you haver received the card in the mail, please make your way to the HR office and ask for Charlotte Swanson. She will make a copy for you. Never send a picture of your SSN via computer or tablet.

✅  HEALTH INSURANCE

A few of you have NOT signed up for GEOBLUE this summer, nor provided us with proof of other insurance. As an F-1 student you are REQLUIRED to have insurance EVERY DAY you are in the United States even if classes are not in session.
This means some of you are out of compliance with your F-1 regulations, and you could be terminated from SEVIS, which will automatically mean you’ll have to leave the county and stop your studies.
It is highly encouraged that you stay on top of the regulations and communicate with our office on a regular basis.

✅  EMERGENCIES

If you are experiencing an EMERGENCY ON CAMPUS, CALL DPS at 612 330 1717.
If you are OFF campus and need immediate support, CALL 911.
