Whether you are a first-year or transfer student, a U.S. citizen, or an un/DACAmented student, understanding your financial aid and out-of-pocket costs will help you make informed decisions about your college journey. Latinx Student Services provides you with assistance and referrals to address your financial aid questions.
When you are admitted into the University, your admission letter lists scholarships and grants that have been awarded to you by Augsburg based on:
- Financial Need
- Academic Achievement
- Participation in a college prep program (TRIO, AVID, College Possible)
- Timing of your application
However, other sources of funding are available to assist you in meeting the cost of college:
FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID:
Available to U.S. citizens, residents, and eligible non-citizens only, federal financial aid includes grants and loans such as:
- Pell Grant
- Direct Un/Subsidized Loan
- Federal Perkins Loan
STATE FINANCIAL AID:
Available to U.S. citizens, residents, eligible non-citizens, and un/DACAmented students who qualify for the MN DREAM Act or meet the state residency law as follows:
- MN State Grant – for U.S. citizens, residents, eligible non-citizens, and un/DACAmented students who meet MN DREAM Act or state residency law
- MN State Work Study – for U.S. citizens, residents, eligible non-citizens, and DACA students with employment authorization and Social Security number
- SELF Loan
How to apply for federal and state aid?
U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) and filling out any additional forms required by Augsburg.
Un/DACAmented students eligible for the MN DREAM Act or who meet at least one of the criteria of the state residency law can complete the online MN DREAM Act State Financial Aid Application.

Additional Scholarships
In addition to the scholarships awarded to you at the time of admission, you can apply to other Augsburg and external scholarships to help you manage the cost of your college education.
Latinx Student Services can support you through your application process, whether by proofreading your essay, completing a recommendation form, or referring you to the most appropriate on- or off-campus resource.

Honoring Outstanding Latinxs at Augsburg (HOLA) Scholarship
Award: $2,500-$3,750 annual, renewable
For self-identified Latinx students in the Augsburg Day program
The HOLA Scholarship is one of the “Multicultural Life Scholarships.” To learn about eligibility and application, visit our MLife Scholarship page.
DACA and undocumented students are eligible and highly encouraged to apply. Promise, Presidential, and ActSix Scholarship recipients and International Students (F-1 and J-1) do not qualify for this award.
Scholastic Connections
Award: $5,000 annual, renewable
Scholastic Connections is a scholarship program for high-achieving undergraduate students of color at Augsburg University. It is designed to assist students in completing their undergraduate degree and prepare them to be engaged, successful citizens of the world on graduation by facilitating career development and planning.
DACA and undocumented students are eligible and highly encouraged to apply.
Promise, Presidential, and ActSix Scholarship recipients and International Students (F-1 and J-1) are not eligible for this award.

Immigrant Opportunity Fund
This fund is possible due to generous donors who provide financial assistance, opportunity, and encouragement to undocumented and DACA students of all nationalities. Currently, this funding is available to support tuition and education expenses. It is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and as funding is available. Please note that only currently enrolled students can receive funding from the Immigrant Opportunity Fund.
Students awarded the following scholarships are not eligible for this fund: Augsburg Promise Scholarship, Full Tuition Scholarship, and Act Six Scholarship.
The 24-25 Application is currently unavailable.
